Region: Northern Triangle boosts cooperation

Last month the leaders of Central America’s so-called ‘Northern Triangle’ (El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras) announced a new sub-regional plan to combat criminality. The plan – which involves the creation of a new trinational task force – is the latest sign of joint efforts to tackle the sub-region’s notoriously high rates of homicide and crime.
