Fujimoristas hunker down

In June, the defeated run-off presidential candidate Keiko Fujimori pledged that her party, the conservative Fuerza Popular (FP), would use its record new congressional representation to provide “responsible opposition” to the incoming executive led by Pedro Pablo Kuczynski. So far, the FP seems more inclined to fall back into the obstructionist stance that all but crippled the last government led by Ollanta Humala (2011-2016).
