BOLIVIA: Seeking to reassure over the economy

This month, officials from the Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) government led by President Evo Morales were again compelled to offer reassurances regarding the economic slowdown stemming in part from the continued fall in international commodities’ prices. The reassurances follow the government’s announcement that it would not decree payment of a second annual pay bonus (aguinaldo) due to insufficient GDP growth.
