PERU: Spectre of corruption haunts new administration

Little under 100 days into his first term, President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski’s administration has been hit by its first corruption scandal. One of the President’s closest advisers has become embroiled in an influence peddling scheme, thereby undermining Kuczynski’s election pledge to break free of the ‘old Peruvian politics’ of corruption and lead Peru into a new era of transparency.
