Last month Léopold Berlanger, the president of Haiti’s provisional electoral council (CEP) unveiled the new electoral calendar for the country’s delayed presidential, partial legislative, and local elections. The announcement ends speculation following Berlanger’s announcement on 5 October that the elections scheduled for 9 October had been postponed due to the devastation left by hurricane ‘Matthew’ which struck Haiti the previous day [RC-16-10].
