Peru| Abugattás faces impeachment threat. On 21 February the local media reported that opposition congressmen are seeking to impeach congress president, Daniel Abugattás of the Gana Perú ruling coalition, for political proselytizing from his post. According to the reports, the 36-seat strong Fujimorista bench has already secured the support from the three members of the also opposition Concertación Parlamentaria bench. The motion requires 33 signatures to be included on the congressional agenda, and 66 votes for an investigation to be launched.
