POLITICS| Lugo supporters make their voices heard on anniversary. On 15 August ‘Paraguay Resiste’, an organisation that backs the impeached former president Fernando Lugo (2008-2012), staged a demonstration outside congress to commemorate what would have been Lugo’s fourth anniversary in power. Lugo attended the demonstration and thanked the demonstrators for their support’ stating that “they may have ousted us form the [presidential] palace, but they will not remove us from the hearts of the people”.
