In brief: International tourism grows in Mexico

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released its latest figures on tourism, showing that 3.72m foreign tourists visited the country in October 2024, up 15.9% year-on-year. Foreign exchange income from international tourism was up 6.8% year-on-year in October, standing at US$1.98bn. Mexico’s Tourism Minister Josefina Rodríguez Zamora noted that, in the first ten months of the year, exchange income from international tourists totalled US$24.3bn, up 5.2% compared to the same period of 2023. Rodríguez stated that during this time, 36.3m international tourists had visited Mexico, up 7.2% year-on-year.
