*Peru’s investment promotion agency (Proinversión) has awarded three contracts to develop electricity infrastructure for a total of US$127m. Proinversión said that the projects will benefit 700,000 people in the regions of Áncash, Junín, and Ucayali. The projects consist of a 220kV electricity link between the towns of Aguaytía and Pucallpa (Ucayali region); a project to improve the reliability of the power grid between Tarma and Chanchamayo (Junín); and a project to improve the capacity and reliability of the power grid in Huaraz (Áncash).
