ECONOMY | Rousseff promises tax reforms.  On 16 May President Dilma Rousseff said that Brazil needs to tackle tax reform, despite the political resistance to a broad reform. “I believe that in fact there is an inadequate and unequal distribution of tax in Brazil. If people were to see that we tax fundamental inputs, for example, for the development of the country. I don’t know of many countries that tax electric energy, we do”.  “For that reason we have decided to act in a specific way”, she declared, without going into the specifics. “We need to decide what kind of reform we want”.
