Honduras 2013 – a two horse race between the old and the new

The scheduled November general election takes place under the long shadow of the June 2009 coup, with the country looking in worse shape now than it was four years ago: politically polarised, economically struggling and riven by severe insecurity linked to transnational drug trafficking and violent organised crime.
