Paraguay - Mercosur’s newest oil producer?
The British oil firm, President Energy, has announced the discovery of a significant oil discovery in Paraguay’s vast Chaco region. President Energy has yet to confirm if the deposit found at its Lapacho well is commercially viable, but the news has revived optimism that Paraguay may be on the verge of joining the ranks of the region’s oil producing countries.
