HONDURAS: Child migration surges again

The problem of child migrants on the Mexico-US border has not gone away. Indeed, border agencies have reported a surge in numbers in recent months, amid fears that the US president-elect Donald Trump would follow through on his dramatic pledge to build a wall on the US-Mexico border. Mexico, meanwhile, detained and deported back to Honduras 9,222 children and young adolescents between January and November, according to the humanitarian organisation Casa Alianza, based in the Honduran capital Tegucigalpa since 1998.
