So far so good in 2017 but risks remain

Economic activity in Mexico increased solidly in January according to the latest preliminary official figures. This seems encouraging considering many experts suggested that Mexico’s domestic economy would suffer this year following the election of Donald Trump as the new US president. However, upon closer inspection the preliminary results for the first month of the year expose some weaknesses in Mexico’s economy that are fuelling concerns among analysts.
