Mixed results for Brazil’s economy in the first quarter

Latin America’s economy grew during the first quarter of the year after two years of successive contractions. This technically lifts Brazil out of economic recession, but many analysts warn that this recovery may be short-lived. In the absence of greater political certainty, Brazil’s economic prospects for the second quarter of the year already look decidedly less rosy.
