Brazil closes major corruption investigation unit

Brazil’s ‘Operation Car Wash’ has been held up as one of the biggest anti-corruption investigations in history. But at a time when its investigators continue to target senior politicians, those working in ‘Operation Car Wash’ could soon become the victims of their own success. A series of budget cuts and organisational changes to the anti-corruption bodies leading the ‘Operation Car Wash’ probes threaten to jeopardise the progress of the ongoing investigations.
