Peasant farmers take over Asunción

Thousands of members of the Coordinadora Nacional Intersectorial (CNI) umbrella peasant farmers’ association have descended on Paraguay’s capital, Asunción, as part of a protest campaign to demand the condonation their debts and increased assistance from the national government for the sector.
