Region: Looking for solutions to grand corruption problems

Corruption in Latin America has evolved from ‘general corruption’ to increasingly being categorised as ‘grand corruption’. This is the conclusion a group of experts analysing the nature of corruption in the region arrived at during a conference held in Buenos Aires, Argentina in early July. While the panel acknowledged that countries across Latin America have taken significant steps to combat corruption in general, new measures to tackle grand corruption are now urgently needed.
