MEXICO: Mancera uses fifth Informe to set 2018 stall out

The governor of Mexico City (CDMX), Miguel Angel Mancera, presented his fifth annual address (‘Informe’) to the CDMX legislative assembly on 17 September. Mancera, who won election on the ticket of the left-wing national opposition Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD), used his penultimate Informe to present himself as an able administrator and a viable option for the presidency in the 2018 elections. Mancera’s goal appears to be to secure the presidential nomination of the newly formed Frente Ciudadano por México (FCM) opposition coalition.
