MEXICO-REGION: DEA sees a continuing Mexican and Colombian threat

The top Mexican drug trafficking organisations still dominate the US market for illicit drugs, while Colombian cocaine supply is growing and the health crisis caused by the rise of synthetic opioids is intensifying. These are some of the conclusions of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) ‘2017 National Drug Threat Assessment’ (NDTA) published on 23 October.
