VENEZUELA: A MUDDY end

Venezuela’s troubled opposition coalition, Mesa de la Unidad Democrática (MUD), has “completed its cycle in political history”, according to Henri Falcón, the outgoing governor of Lara state, who has called for a new national unity platform to challenge the Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV) government led by President Nicolás Maduro ahead of the 2018 presidential election.
