The Peruvian press claimed this week that local prosecutors investigating the region-wide government corruption scheme centred around Brazil’s construction firm Odebrecht have gathered new incriminating evidence confirming the involvement of the country’s main political leaders in the wrongdoing. The new allegations affect a former president, the leader of the main opposition party, and, for the first time directly, the incumbent president, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.
