El Salvador: The central bank (BCR) has released figures which show that El Salvador's exports reached US$4.77bn in the first ten months of the year, up 5.7% on the same period in 2016. The US remains El Salvador's main export market, accounting for 45.3% of exports, down 0.8% on the same period last year. Countries where exports were up by more than 100% over the same period included China (where exports rose from US$4.3m to US$46.1m) and Vietnam (from US$1.1m to US$24.5m). The same figures show that El Salvador’s imports reached US$8.7bn over the period, up 6.4% on the same period in 2016.
