In brief: Brazil

*Brazil sold less coffee in 2017 due to climactic variations which led to a disappointing harvest and slower sales from producers. Brazil’s coffee exporters association (Cecafé) reported that Brazil exported 30.7m sacks of coffee in 2017, down 10% from the 34.2m registered in 2016. Even though the price of coffee rose last year, Brazil generated less revenue from exports, which were worth US$5.2bn in 2017, down from US$5.4bn in 2016.
