A surprise frontrunner ahead of Costa Rican presidential vote

Development: On 23 January, the Universidad de Costa Rica’s centre for research and policy studies (Ciep) released its latest survey ahead of the 4 February general election which showed a 14-percentage point rise in the polls since the previous month for Christian evangelical pastor and presidential candidate, Fabricio Alvarado.
