Cuba complaints about new US task force

Chile: On 28 January, the US Embassy in Chile released a statement noting that the US Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) is offering a US$10,000 reward for information on the whereabouts of Mauro Ociel Valenzuela-Reyes, a Chilean national. He is wanted for his suspected involvement in a 1996 plane crash in Florida which killed 110 people, one of the worst air plane disasters to take place in the US state. The FBI found four people responsible for the incident including Valenzuela, who at the time was one of three mechanics working for airline ValuJet, after the oxygen canisters inside the plane that exploded were found to be faulty. The US District Court for the Southern District of Florida issued an arrest warrant for Valenzuela in 2000 but he remains at large. The FBI suspects that Valenzuela might now be living in Chile under a false name and may regularly travel to Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, or Peru. The FBI has asked anyone with information about Valenzuela’s whereabouts to contact the FBI directly or their nearest US Embassy or Consulate.
