Mexico City (CDMX) has been considered an exceptional, relatively safe area in the current climate of violence that pervades large parts of Mexico. The authorities had always highlighted the fact that major criminal or drug trafficking organisations (DTOs), do not operate in the capital city. However, new evidence appears to point to the contrary.
