*US-based coffee company Starbucks has sold its Brazilian operations to private equities company Southern Rock, which is headquartered in São Paulo. The value of the deal has not yet been disclosed. Under the agreement, Southern Rock has agreed to pay Starbucks’ licencing fee. With this change, the 17 countries where Starbucks operates in Latin America and the Caribbean will all become fully licenced. Starbucks is currently expanding in the region and is due to open more coffee shops in Uruguay later this year.
