Peru: Peru’s tourism and export promotion agency (Promperú) has reported that the country’s exports reached a total of US$44.2bn in 2017, a 22% increase compared with the previous year and the highest total in six years. According to Promperú, the results mean that Peru had the highest growth in exports in all Latin America and the third-highest growth in the world overall in 2017. Traditional exports, like minerals, fish oil, and fishmeal, grew by 27.5% year-on-year in 2017 to reach a total of US$32.5bn. Meanwhile non-traditional exports totalled US$11.7bn, an 8.3% year-on-year increase.
