* Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) has reported that the country received US$4.4bn in remittances from abroad in the first two months of the year. The new remittance figure is 7.17% higher than that recorded in the same period last year. Mexico received US$28.77bn in remittances in 2017, the highest figure in two decades. The latest Banxico report suggests that the trend in rising remittance flows could continue this year.
