Political killings continue as election campaign begins

As Mexico gears up for the 1 July general election, the interior ministry (Segob) says that, to date, 30 people have been killed during the electoral process for suspected political reasons. Despite this, the leading presidential candidates have so far been short on detailed policies to deal with the violence, which is at record-high levels.
