* Brazil’s national statistics institute (Ibge) has announced that monthly inflation in March was close to zero at 0.09%, bringing the annualised rate to 2.68%. In a statement, the president of the central bank (BCB), Ilan Goldfajn, said that Brazil had significantly improved its monetary policy, but it was necessary to advance the government’s reform agenda to keep interest rates low.
