Peru: Peru’s foreign trade & tourism ministry (Mincetur) has announced that representatives from the Peruvian and Indian governments have concluded the second round of negotiations for the signing of a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA). Peru and India began negotiating a FTA back in March during a negotiating round held in New Delhi, while the second negotiating round began on 9 April in Peru’s capital, Lima. A Mincetur statement noted that the signing of the bilateral FTA would create a potentially tariff free market of 1.2bn people, a third of which are potential consumers of Peruvian products.
