Chile: According to figures from Chile’s central bank (BCCh), Chile’s GDP grew by 4.2% in the first quarter of 2018 compared with the same period last year. December 2017 figures from the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America & the Caribbean (Eclac) estimated that Chile closed 2017 with 1.5% GDP growth. The BCCh’s most recent quarterly monetary policy report released last month is forecasting GDP growth of between 3% and 4% for 2018.
