The formal peace negotiations between the Colombian government and the Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) guerrillas have resumed in Cuba after Ecuador announced that it would no longer host the talks. That the Colombian government was able to quickly find a new site for the talks is positive and has helped to ensure they will not be abandoned in the short term.
