The beginning of the end?

The ultimatum delivered to the Venezuelan government by the Lima group of regional countries, to suspend the 20 May presidential election, on pain of yet-to-be-detailed punitive actions, was blithely ignored by Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro. But there is a Damocles Sword hanging over Venezuela that President Maduro will not be able to ignore, and which could mark the beginning of the end for him. If Venezuelan creditors get their day in court, Maduro’s poll victory could be short-lived.
