*Ernesto Revilla, an economist and the head of the Latin America division at the US-based Citibank, has said that a victory for presidential candidate Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who is running for the leftist Juntos Haremos Historia coalition, would be unlikely to result in macroeconomic change for Mexico, at least in the short term, as Mexico has already stabilised its finances and has a very resilient economy. López Obrador is the favourite ahead of the 1 July general election. Revilla made his comments at a recent meeting which took place in New York City at the bank’s headquarters with Latin America media representatives.
