* Mexico’s economy minister, Ildefonso Guajardo, has said that he expects the call to resume negotiations between Mexico, the US, and Canada over the North American Free Trade Agreement (Nafta) will be made next month. At the XIX ministerial meeting of the Pacific Alliance trade bloc (which comprises Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico), which took place in Mexico on 15 June, Guajardo said that meetings at a ministerial level regarding the Nafta negotiations would take place next month but as yet there was no date for a meeting with Canada’s foreign minister, Chrystia Freeland, and the US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer.
