Much has happened in Chile since President Sebastián Piñera took office for the second time in March. The new government has been proactive in advancing its legislative agenda, while at the same time it has been trying to accommodate to the events taking place outside its agenda, such as the global rise of the feminist movement. Furthermore, as it is expected with every new government, there have been some hiccoughs in terms of appointments. Notably, the regional governments – appointed centrally – were not ready until a couple of months into the government.
