International bodies to investigate violence in Nicaragua
Development: On 20 June the Nicaraguan government led by President Daniel Ortega formally invited representatives from the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), the United Nations (UN), and the European Union (EU) to investigate the violence that has erupted in the country since April, and which has led to the deaths of hundreds of people in anti-government protests.
