Uruguay: Not so peaceful after all?

Blessed with strong institutions and low crime rates, Uruguay is among the least violent countries in Latin America. But while Uruguay’s crime levels remain low in comparison to its more violent neighbours, the incidence of violent robberies and homicides is creeping up.
