Andean: The Andean community of nations (CAN) trade bloc, which comprises Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, has announced that international air traffic reached 30m passengers in 2017. This represents an increase of 11% on the previous year, and marks 10 years of consistent growth. Colombia registered 13.5m international passengers, up 6.4% on 2016, while passenger numbers in Peru grew 21.6% to almost 11m, the largest increase of the CAN countries. There were 4m international passengers in Ecuador, up 3.7%, and Bolivia registered 1.5m passengers, an increase of 5%. Intracommunity air traffic (defined as those who took flights between two airports within CAN territory) reached 5.2m passengers in 2017, an increase of 14.4% on the previous year.
