Colombia's president-elect in Washington

Brazil: On 6-7 July, Brazil’s foreign minister, Aloysio Nunes Ferreira, paid a visit to the US to attend a coordination meeting with the network of Brazilian consulates in North America. The meeting included representatives from US, Canadian, and Mexican consulates and embassies and was aimed at addressing the situation of Brazilian communities in the region (which hosts the largest number of Brazilian migrants - 1.6m). In a 3 July press release, Brazil’s foreign ministry said the meeting would focus on US migration policy and the issue of minors who are currently separated from their parents or guardians in shelters across the border. The same office qualified the situation as a “clear violation of the international instruments for the protection of children”.
