Guatemala: The United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America & the Caribbean (Eclac) has released figures regarding the economic cost of the 3 June eruption of the Fuego Volcano, one of Central America’s most active volcanoes, which left 113 people dead and over 300 missing in Guatemala. According to local press reports, the total cost is put at Q1.64bn (US$219m) of which Q926m are damages, Q468m are economic losses, and Q247m are additional costs.
