*Mexico’s economy minister, Ildefonso Guajardo, has said that the negotiating teams from Mexico, the US, and Canada could resume talks regarding the North America Free Trade Agreement (Nafta) at the end of the month. According to Mexico’s state news agency, Notimex, Guajardo made the comments after inaugurating Expo INA Paace Automechanika Mexico City 2018, a key automotive trade show, and said that he had been in conversation with US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer. According to the Notimex report, in recent days Larry Rubin, the head of the US Republican party in Mexico, expressed confidence that there would be a new trade deal before the change of government in Mexico which takes place in December.
