Introduction

Land restitution, a central part of Colombia’s peace process, is allowing thousands of people to move back to the countryside and engage in productive agricultural activity. However, returning land to those displaced by the 50-year conflict is both a complex administrative undertaking and a tense political issue that has resulted in numerous assassinations of social leaders. In this July edition of Latin American Regional Report: Andean Group we begin by examining this issue.
