Argentina: Gov’t fleshes out anti-drug trafficking security strategy

After months of work, the argentine government led by President Mauricio Macri unveiled its new national security strategy aimed at combating drug trafficking in mid-June. After assuming office in December 2015 President Macri said that improving the fight against the trafficking of drugs through and into Argentina would be one of the priorities of his government. However, it took his administration over two years to come up with a new comprehensive security plan to this effect.
