In brief: Mexico

* Mexico’s economy minister, Ildefonso Guajardo, has said that following the meetings between Mexican and US government officials to discuss the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (Nafta) last week, the two sides have “practically resolved” 20 of the 30 pending issues in the negotiations. According to Guajardo, now that Mexico and the US have “technically resolved” all of these issues, they will be presented to the Canadian government delegation for discussion. The minister added that he hoped that the resolution of these issues could be achieved this week and that a full preliminary deal could be ready by the end of the month.
