ECUADOR | Belt-tightening measures rolled out. The government led by President Lenín Moreno is hoping to save some US$1bn a year through the introduction of new economic measures and the reduction of red tape. Moreno, who presented the measures alongside his economy & finance minister Richard Martínez, said that the poor and pensioners would be the chief beneficiaries.
