* Brazil’s national transport association (CNT), a business-sector lobby, has said that the country needs to invest R$1.7trn (US$415.2bn) in infrastructure development to achieve a transport system that is modern and free from problems. In the latest edition of its plan for transport and logistics, the CNT identifies 2,663 essential projects for the successful development of the country’s national transport infrastructure. According to the plan, rail and road transport are the two areas that require the most investment (R$744.3bn and R$568bn respectively).
